About Green Horizon
An Erasmus+ Small-scale Partnership in Youth (KA210-YOU, Project: 2024-3-DE04-KA210-YOU-000293009) uniting Germany, Türkiye, and Romania from 1 May 2025 to 31 August 2026.
Why Green Horizon?
Europe’s ecosystems face acute climate pressures: erratic flood cycles along rivers, drying agricultural basins and wetlands in Mediterranean regions, and heat stress on forest canopies. While scientific data abounds, communicating these localized realities to grassroots communities and young people requires compelling visual narratives.
At the same time, camera drones and digital photography provide accessible, non-invasive ways to document environmental changes from above. Green Horizon brings these tools directly to youth workers and young creators aged 15–30, transforming climate awareness into hands-on media skills, community discussions, and creative advocacy.
Through non-formal experiential learning, 18 youth workers were trained in Romania and went on to deliver grassroots workshops to over 60 young people across Bonn (Germany), Brașov (Romania), and Mersin (Türkiye).

Horizontal Priorities Addressed
Green Horizon directly advanced three fundamental European Union youth priorities.
Environment & Fight Against Climate Change
Equipping youth workers and young people to observe and document localized ecological changes, building environmental consciousness through visual storytelling.
Digital Transformation & Skills
Developing hands-on competencies in camera drone piloting, aerial framing, 360° virtual reality curation, and accessible digital video editing.
Inclusion and Diversity
Ensuring active participation of young people with fewer opportunities (migrant, refugee, rural, and economically disadvantaged youth) with over 50% target involvement in local workshops.
Six Key Project Objectives
Structured goals guiding our work across the 16 months of European collaboration.
1. Digital & Environmental Skills
Train youth workers and young people in safe drone operations, framing, and video editing to articulate environmental issues clearly.
2. Climate Impact Awareness
Produce 6 youth documentary short films and an interactive virtual reality exhibition showing real environmental challenges in partner communities.
3. Transnational Collaboration
Connect educators and youth from Germany, Romania, and Türkiye to foster shared European civic engagement and environmental solidarity.
4. Promoting Social Inclusion
Involve underrepresented young people in digital creation, providing free access to emerging technology and creative expression.
5. Youth Civic Empowerment
Build self-confidence and communication skills so young participants can lead discussions with peers, schools, and local authorities.
6. Open Educational Resources
Publish the 99-page Green Horizon booklet freely under CC BY-SA 4.0 for educators and youth leaders across the European Union.
